The home of the world-famous Laguiole knives is in Thiers, a small town in the Auvergne region of France that has been famous for its cutlery for 500 years. Originally inspired by folding knives from Andalusia, the elegant knives with the famous bee, the Napoleonic heraldic animal, have been made there in a wide variety of designs for generations. This lovingly handcrafted knife embodies the French way of life par excéllence, not least through the corkscrew, and thus delights knife collectors from all over the world. The 12 cm long handle scales are made of Aubrac cow horn and is stylishly framed by inox bolsters. The individually forged and hardened T12 blade is stainless and has a matt satin finish. The traditional slipjoint pocket knife is opened with a nail nick. The steel has a hardness of 57 to 58 HRC, which makes the blade very resilient and its sharpness usually lasts for several years.
