The high-quality Laguiole steak knives are manufactured by the Goyon-Chazeau Manufactory near Thiers, a town in Auvergne, France, which has been famous for over 500 years for its cutlery.  Originally inspired by folding knives from Andalusia, the elegant knives with the famous bee, the Napoleonic heraldic animal, have been made there for generations in various forms.
