The home of the world-famous Laguiole knives is in Thiers, a small town in the Auvergne region of France that has been famous for its cutlery for 500 years. Originally inspired by folding knives from Andalusia, the elegant knives with the famous bee, the Napoleonic heraldic animal, have been produced there in a wide variety of designs for generations. The 11 cm long handle scales are made of the finest Juniper wood and is stylishly framed by brass bolsters. The steel has a hardness of 57 to 58 HRC, which makes the blade very resilient and usually keeps it sharp for several years.
