The deadbolt lock secures the folded-out drop-point blade with steel bolts in the liners and secures the knife. The curved satinized blade made of D2 is simply unlocked via the central button in the blade bearing. The robust FRN handle scales are wrapped in brown paracord to ensure a secure grip.
